MarsApp 0.1
MarsApp is 3D software used to build your own Mars settlement.
The downloadable zip file is currently about 44 MB.
This Windows software is freeware.
In MarsApp 0.1, fabrication of the settlement is based on two components, a cylinder and a spheroid.
These components are made of fiberglass spun from Martian dust.
This demonstrates the principle of 'living off the land' on Mars.
The visual concept and reference images that inspire MarsApp are from the Mars Homestead Project of the Mars Foundation.
The software is based on jMonkeyEngine, an open source 3D Java platform.
Please consider saving your settlements and emailing them to us at Mars Society Sweden, since we are interested in seeing what you develop.
Usage and usability data will inform and influence our future design and development efforts.
Settlement screenshots and files that we receive will be posted here in the future as we begin to settle Mars virtually together.
